It is the task of the basic set of ECWCS Gen III Level 2 thermal underwear, which is the second layer in the concept of the ECWCS GEN III layering system, as quickly as possible to remove moisture and sweat from the body and retain heat.

The third-generation ECWCS system, consisting of 7 layers of clothing with a total weight of a little less than 6 kg, was successfully tested by the 10th mountain infantry motto of the US Army in the conditions of hostilities in Afghanistan and since 2007 has been the standard of US Army clothing, which allows soldiers to seamlessly adapt to operational - tactical tasks in different climatic zones at temperatures from -40 to + 16C.

Thermal underwear ECWCS Gen III Level 2 can be used as a base underwear layer in cool weather, not only in conditions of intense physical activity, but also when performing static tasks. This versatility is made possible by the use of Polartec® Power Grid®, an ultra-breathable two-component material with a patented mesh (waffle) structure that effectively wicks moisture away from the body through contact points with the skin and improves thermoregulation by dissipating excess heat through the air channels. The fast-drying mesh structure does not lose its thermal insulation properties when compressed, making the material less bulky and lighter in comparison with other base materials of Polartec®.

In addition, the Polartec® Power Grid® fabric is treated with Odor Resistant® antibacterial protection, which prevents unpleasant odors from clothes. Composition: 93% Polyester + 7% Spandex with a density of 231 g / m2. The material is completely hypoallergenic.

A high stand-up collar with a zipper to the middle of the chest protects against adverse weather conditions and mechanical stress, and also allows you to control the removal of excess heat and moisture;

An additional thumb hole on the sleeves makes it easier to put on additional layers of clothing (for example, ECWCS Gen 3 Level 3) and protects the back of the hand from wind and cold;
The elongated raglan back protects the lumbar region from cold and wind when bending, squatting;
Wide elastic waist on the pants ensures a snug fit of the raglan to the body;
The codpiece from an additional insert of material prevents chafing during prolonged wear and provides higher mobility;
Used as a separate piece of clothing in cool weather, and in combination with other layers of the ECWCS Gen3 system in frosty weather;
Can be washed in a washing machine, does not lose its properties and shape even after repeated washings, does not roll or wallow.
