Features of IFAK II:
● Two turnstiles C.A.T. with separate pouches that are attached to the main one.
● Chest sealing tape or occlusive tape. Designed to prevent pneumothorax caused by chest injury.
● The eye shield is a small, oval disc with a gasket around the rim and vents in the body. Designed to be applied to a soldier's injured eye in order to relieve pressure on the eyeball when the soldier's injured head is wrapped in bandages.
● The Gerber sling cutter with cullet as a more modern alternative to medical scissors.
● The modified pouch can be attached to the rear of the equipment so as not to interfere with the fighter.
● The pouch has the inscription "US IFAK" for quick identification by soldiers.
● Individual pouches for turnstiles have blood type labels.
● The contents of the IFAK II can be easily reached by both right-handers and left-handers from the pouch-container thanks to the presence of special straps on both sides.
● Once removed, the inner kit remains attached to the outer pouch with an elastic cord.
● IFAK II is used in Afghanistan.
