Level 5 is the most effective way to resist the cold. The Gen III Level 5 jacket is designed for use in moderate to cold weather conditions as a soft-shell layer. It is part of the ECWCS military multi-layer system and is designed to be combined with other base and insulating layers. When worn alone or together, it provides warmth and comfort with a low bulk without hindering movement.
The jacket has a two-way zipper in the center front with a wind flap and an elastic cord at the bottom edge for adjustment. It has a high collar with a folding hood, Velcro pockets on the sleeves, two front zippered pockets, vents under the sleeves and Velcro fasteners for attaching rank badges and name patches.
The jackets are made of MILLIKEN® nylon, a wear-resistant fabric encapsulated with a silicone polymer, using the unique EPIC® technology, thanks to which the product breathes well and has water-repellent and windproof properties.
ECWCS Level V is very flexible in its application (it is considered a "base" layer), in combination with insulating layers - the jacket is an excellent outer layer for cold or wet weather and, at the same time, it can be used at any time of the year.
