The insulated ALFA Pro pants are just what you need in the cooler seasons. The upper fabric is a durable Japanese Gelanots® nylon with 6th generation SDWR water-repellent impregnation and high vapor permeability. The lining is Polartec Power Grid thermal and moisture wicking fabric. Five external pockets (three with zippers) and two internal pockets. The pants are incredibly warm and comfortable, but sturdy and lightweight. Application of a super strong COATS thread makes this model reliable. The elastic waistband of the pants has secure belt loops.
The Gelanots® fabric is developed by Tomen (Toyota Corporation) of Japan and is the world leader in breathable fabrics. Gelanots® is a durable, high-elastic, non-porous membrane.

The secret of Gelanots® membrane is the highly permeable molecular structure of the special polyurethane (PUR) from which it is made. The hydrophilic PUR molecules are spaced far enough apart, and the mutual attraction with water molecules creates optimal conditions for high vapor permeability.
During increased physical activity, large amounts of sweat, vapor and condensation accumulate under clothing. Vapor molecules are attracted to the Gelanots® membrane, pass between the PUR molecules and temporarily become part of the membrane (hydrophilicity). Subsequently, the force created by the difference in partial pressure between the outside and inside of the garment and the elevated temperature on the inside of the membrane pushes the sweat molecules outward.
Gelanots® are called the "smart membrane". When actively engaged in sports, a person not only sweats a lot, but also generates a lot of heat, and under the influence of high temperature PUR molecules move faster, the distance between them becomes larger and, as a consequence, vapor permeability increases. As physical activity increases, the temperature inside increases, the temperature gradient increases, sweat begins to evaporate more strongly, condensate accumulates on the inner surface of the membrane, and humidity increases. With Gelanots®, hydrophilic molecules continue to attract, promote and push condensation outward, unlike classic pore membranes where condensation can create a coherent layer, causing the pore membrane to stop breathing.
Sometimes, especially during rain, there is no gradient in the partial pressure of water vapor. Under such conditions, the Gelanots® membrane continues to operate due to temperature differences.

Gelanots® poreless membrane products are compact and very flexible, so the membrane is not damaged when the fabric is actively used and stretched for extended periods of time. Unlike PTFE poreless fabrics, which start to get soggy when worn and stretched for long periods of time, due to stretching and deformation of the pores.

Elasticity - the ability of the fabric to return to its original shape after stretching without any damage, permanent deformation or loss of waterproofing - is one of the most important qualities of all membranes. Gelanots® fully meets these requirements, Gelanots® membrane lamination on elastic fabrics allows it to be used in areas of high stretch (on the knees, shoulders, elbows).

A typical disadvantage of pore membranes is the gradual clogging of the pores and the consequent deterioration of moisture drainage. Salts and fats from sweat, dirt, and detergent particles can deposit in the pores and clog them. Gelanots® membrane is free of these disadvantages. Gelanots® retains its elasticity and strength even at very low temperatures.
Gelanots® does not require any special cleaning methods. It can be washed in a washing machine, even with ordinary detergents, dried in a dryer and ironed. It should not be wrung, however, but it is better to wait for the water to drain out on its own. It is forbidden to use bleaches, conditioners and dry cleaning.

The main difference between this type of two-part material is its mesh structure. This solution reduces the weight of the fabric, and therefore makes clothes made of it lighter. In addition, the sparse structure allows this material to compress more than usual, which reduces the volume of the product in the folded form. At the same time, the warming ability is not altered compared to the standard Power Dry®. The mesh structure also increases absorption efficiency by creating contact points between the fabric and the skin, while improving vapor permeability between the contact areas.
Power Grid fabric will keep your body warm in all conditions. Thanks to the notches on the fabric, the clothes made of this fabric can be used for both active and static activities. The specially designed structure allows the fabric to dry quickly, while the inner velour layer "breathes" and keeps you warm. The lightness and elasticity of the products gives unlimited comfort of movement.
