The EOTech holographic sight is an open type sight, which allows the shooter not to squint his other eye while aiming. The alignment of the image of the reticle and the target in one plane eliminates 100% of the parallax and allows the shot to be made when the reticle is aimed at the target regardless of the angle of sight and the position of the shooter.
The holographic sight can be placed at any distance from the eye, it can be installed on any type of weapon. It is mounted on the weaver/picatinny rail using the weaver bracket integrated into the EOTech holographic sights. EOTech rifle scopes have no caliber restriction.
Certain EOTech models have a special "NV" mode designed to work with night vision devices. When switching to this mode the brightness of the aiming mark decreases sharply, thus avoiding illumination of the night vision monocular matrix.
Another distinctive feature of EOTech holographic sights is that they can be used in any weather - in rain, snow or heavy fog. Sighting mark will be clearly visible even if the exit window is covered with snow or dirt, or even broken.
EOTech sights have an automatic shutoff feature, programmable for 4 or 8 hours.
