Modular Sleeping System is a multi-component modular sleeping bag that can withstand even the harshest cold.
MSS is a special Modular Sleeping System consisting of three independent elements and a cover.
It is manufactured by Tennier Industries Inc. (USA) and is in service with the US Army.
The MSS was specially designed as an all-weather modular system, the components of which can be used both individually and together - combining all three layers into one.
The Modular Sleep System (MSS) was developed specifically for the U.S. military, with consideration for use throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions and terrain.
During its development the main task was to make the system as strong, effective and easy to use as possible, which would not require any other elements for sleeping.
It allows, with different combinations of layers, to sleep in temperatures from +35 to -40 degrees Celsius in the open field without the use of tents, awnings or other shelters.
When using the system in extremely cold conditions it is recommended to use the ECWCS all-weather clothing system in parallel.
All three sleeping bags are made in a "mummy" shape. They close with a zipper along the right side. The zippers are twisted.
Each has two double-sided sliders to open both from the outside and inside, both top and bottom.
The zippers are additionally covered with a frosting flap and the outer zipper with an additional button locking flap.
A specially designed button system of joining the layers allows you to combine parts of the system depending on the temperature and the desired sleeping comfort and the use of a membrane outer layer.
This system uses Polarguard HV (High Void) insulation, a long fiber polyester insulation.
Excellent ratio of weight to heat protection.
The fiber has an inner triangular channel, thanks to which the fiber restores to its original volume after compression, the weight is reduced by 20%, increased strength.
Due to its long-staple structure the insulation does not roll down, "does not crumble" into component parts.
Maintains its volume after many washes.
